My husband and I are going thru a divorce but still living together. The home is jointly owned.
He has put locks on two rooms in the house and will not let me enter. Does he have the right to do this in a home I also own?
A: As both of you own the home then legally he does not have the right to lock you out of any part of the the home. However if you are contemplating getting a divorce or in the process of obtaining a divorce then I would not advise that you make an issue our of this until the divorce papers are filed at which time you can decide whether or not you want to remain living in the same home with him? The locked doors is perhaps providing some safety for both of you.
